I had the domain “Wiccagirl.com” for a long time but let it run out last month and was not able to retrieve it. I decided not to worry about it and opened up witchmusings.com instead. It matches my blog title and it works for me. I hope to try to post between here and my podcast site more often.

Lights for the tree… oy vey!

I decided to pull out my Yule tree last night. I got it up and then started stringing lights. I found that two of the strands of lights don’t work anymore. Today I went to…. SIX different stores looking for lights. I use blue lights on my tree. No multi, no other colors, just blue.

First I went to Kmart (where I usually can find anything I need.) They didn’t have any blue strands. I then went to Ollie’s. I didn’t see any lights and the place was crammed with people so I left. I went to Dollar General and there was a man looking at the few lights they had as if he had found the holy grail. I left there and headed to Big Lots. No luck there. They had some red strands, but I wanted BLUE. I then tried Home Depot and they were no help either. Then, I went to Target. Fabulous Target with so many good things. They had multi, white, green, and what was that? YES!!!!!!!!!!! Three boxes left of blue lights. I got two of these and happily made my way to the check out.

I came home, put them on the tree and then finished decorating it. I think it looks pretty nice too. I’ll upload pictures to my Flickr when I finish this post.

Yes, it’s May and I haven’t posted here in a few months. Don’t worry, I’m not going to stop posting here. I just post more over at my podcast page. I’ll try to remember to post here more often.
Well, Spring as sprung! The trees have their leaves again. All the plants are full and lush. I love it! Recently I did some yard work. I put red mulch down in the yard across the front of the house. I also transplanted my four lavender plants that were around my bird bath to the front yard. I then planted three new plants around the bird bath.

Back in April, I went to Lowe’s for their Free Tree giveaway. The nice man that had the trees, let me get two. They were so small and cute! They look just like a branch off a pine tree. (They are Colorado Blue Spruce!) The instructions said to plant them in pots and let them grow in them for a year and then transplant them to the yard. I have them in pots side by side. They are doing well. I noticed the other day that both have new growth on them so I guess they are taking to the pots well.

Next month I hope to get some more mulch. I need to finish up the front yard and then it will look really nice. I didn’t have enough mulch to finish. I would buy more, but I’m trying to save a little to go to the gem show in Martinsville next weekend. If I go, I will post about it here and I will also do a podcast about it. I love the Gem show! Spring is almost here!

Yes, my daffodils are blooming all over my yard. My hyacinths are beautiful, and I even had a trio of crocuses! The weather has been cold one day, warm the next. I’m waiting for it to be warm every day. I can’t wait until all the trees ‘wake up’. I noticed some of the trees in town the other day. They were in full bloom and so pretty! Come on Spring!

until Samhain! Can you believe it? I can’t! If you listen to my podcast, you’ll know what I’m talking about. lol If you don’t, well, I’ll tell you. It just hasn’t seemed like Autumn this year. The summer was sooo hot and so long. It hasn’t really felt ‘fallish’ here but very few days. I can’t believe Samhain will be here and gone in three days time! Oh well, I hope to make the best of it!

I plan to have a nice circle (inside now because of the neighbors and the Beltane incident. ^^; That is okay. It will be nice inside with all the goodies on my Altar. I hope that winter is mild this year. Last year was a doozy. It snowed… A LOT. It doesn’t snow here much so it was a big deal. This summer was brutally hot. I hope that isn’t an indication that winter is going to be extremely cold. Yikes!

Anyway! If you follow the podcast, I just realized episode #47 right before I came to post this. I hope every is enjoying this time of year. Hopefully it will be fall like before it gets COLD.

Autumn is on it’s way!

Hooray for that! It’s been waaaay too hot here this summer. I am so looking forward to cooler weather! Fall is sure to bring me what I want. The Spring this year was hotter than usual. I sure hope fall is cool as normal! If not, I’ll cry. lol I love, love, love, Autumn. The trees are gorgeous, there is a crisp feel to the air, the pumpkins are everywhere. I can’t wait to decorate for Samhain / Halloween. (^^) One year I put up all my decorations on September 1st. lol Yes, I said September 1st, not October 1st! I may do that again this year. When I do that, I’ll be changing the summer things from my seasonal Altar and making it look more autumny. …… that wasn’t even a word. Oh well!

The days are getting shorter and it’s actually cooled down a LITTLE, not a lot. I am so ready for a cool, long sleeve day. My long sleeve shirts are sad and want to be taken out of the closet. It will be great to get back to my walking too. I had to stop my walks near the end of July because it was so hot I couldn’t even walk out the door without losing my breath. I’m going to try to get back on track on September 1st. I have a lot of plans for that day don’t I?

I hope everyone else had a wonderful summer. I also hope it wasn’t as hot where you are as it was here. Brightest Blessings until I post again. ^_^

Gem show!

I forgot to mention the gem show in Martinsville that I went to in May. This is the same gem show I go to every year. I didn’t have much money this time, so I only got a few stones. I spent a total of $9 but I got some really pretty stones.

I bought Lepidolite (which I didn’t have before), blue lace agate, unakite, quartz, citrine, carnelian, and more. I got 13 stones in all. Some I bought individually and 5 were from a 5/1.00 pile. They are all pretty. I hope to get a picture of them up on the iPodWitch website soon!

July already?

Yes, it’s July already and I haven’t posted anything here in quite a while. I’ve been behind on basically everything! :p I have been working on losing a few pounds though. I’ve been walking everyday since May. I’ve only missed two days. The last two. I think I’m taking the weekend off and will get back to it on Monday. I have lost some weight and I have enjoyed my walks immensely. I actually planned to get back to the walks today but it’s raining. :p

The rain is great though. All my plants need it so badly. I haven’t planted any seeds this year. I’ve only planted to Juniper ground cover bushes. (they are PRETTY!) and I bought a Lemon Verbena and two little succulents. I wanted to have a nice garden this summer, but it has been waaaaay too hot to do anything in the yard!

If you follow the podcast, you’ll see that I have an episode this month. I plan to get back on schedule and get those podcasts out more often. I also plan to keep up with my e-mails and return them in a timely fashion!

Snow, snow, magical snow! :)

I LOVE snow. Where I live (Southern central Virginia) we are lucky to get an inch or two of snow once a winter. Today at 1:45 p.m. it started snowing here. It hasn’t stopped and it isn’t supposed to stop until tomorrow! Yes, I’m happy! I will be going out to drawn pentagrams and pentacles in the snow tomorrow along with building a snowman! I also will be taking in some more snow so I can have some snow water for later use. I love snow. They said we might get up to 16 inches!!!!!

If you are wondering where I’ve been and why I haven’t been posting here, I’ve been mostly at the site. I hope to get back here and keep up my Witchy journal.
